Having a baby shower is a great way to relieve stress that you might be having about going to the hospital and delivering your baby. This event will get you excited about your new baby and you will feel eager to go have your baby come earlier than your due date.

Baby showers are often thrown by friends who are not related to the person who is having the baby. But if none of your friends has offered to throw you a baby shower, whose to say that a family member of yours or you yourself can't throw yourself a baby shower. There is nothing wrong about giving yourself a baby shower as the event is to get everyone pumped up about the new baby who is arriving just around the corner.

My husband and I moved to a new place about halfway through my pregnancy. Our friends and families where at least twelve hours away from us. I knew that a baby shower was not something that was going to happen unless everyone flew in or I flew out to visit my family. Of course flying in or out for a baby shower is not always possible. So my mom, who was in Washington state, decided to throw a small shower for me and invited her friends to celebrate. My husband's step-mother also planned a small shower shopping. I ended up getting shower gifts through the mail.
